The people of St. Peter United Church of Christ profess our faith in God, who is the Creator, revealed in Christ the Savior and ever present through the Holy Spirit. We confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and Lord and Savior of the world. We acknowledge as brothers and sisters all who share in this confession. We trust in the Holy Spirit to enlighten and empower us so that we may be the Body of Christ in and for the world. We acknowledge the Bible as the Authoritative, living witness to the Word of God, and we practive the sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion. We affirm the United Church of Christ Statement of Faith as a testimony to our basic beliefs.
We pledge ourselves to mutual care: to bear one another's burdens, to rejoice and weep together, and to work together in the service of God and neighbor. We recognize that, though we may differ in race and class, opinions and preferences, our unity is in the grace of God we have been given, the faith in Christ we share and the communion of the Holy Spirit which calls us together and empowers us as church. We pledge to nurture in one another faith that is active in love, to proclaim the Gospel in word and deed, and to partner with and support others who share our faith and mission.
