Rev. Chris has served as Pastor and Teacher at St. Peter UCC since January of 2015. Previously, Pastor Chris served as an Associate Minister in Kentucky and a Youth Minister in Texas. He comes from a diverse denominational background. A native North Carolinian, he was raised in a Baptist Church in Belmont, near Charlotte. Before being ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), his first ministry position was as Pastoral Assistant (i.e., gopher!) in a Lutheran Church. Pastor Chris is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and Brite Divinity School, Fort Worth, TX. He has also done advanced studies in the History of Christianity at Union Presbyterian Seminary, Richmond, VA. He is married to Nancy Dunn, whom he met in college. She is a manager at College Now of Greater Cleveland. They have two smart, talented, kind teen-agers, of whom they are very proud. The Dunn/Helton family enjoys museums, zoos, historical sites and reading. Pastor Chris is a huge fan of baseball and college basketball.
