Pray: St. Peter UCC is God’s church and we seek to do God’s work by enacting God’s love in the world and nurturing the faith of our congregation and community. Thus, staying connected to God is essential to the work and health of this church. Prayer stands alongside worship as the most basic means of opening our hearts and minds to God. The poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson expressed the importance and power of prayer well, writing: “More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.” [Morte D’Arthur , “The Passing of Arthur,” lines 415-416] Therefore, let us lift our voices day and night to pray for God’s blessings on the work of our church, God’s guidance for the leadership of our congregation, and God’s help for those who are sick or facing trouble.
